There’s something about spring in New York City that just makes you want to hit the reset button—on your wardrobe, your routines, and most definitely your home. Maybe it’s the blooming flowers along Fifth Avenue, the vibrant window displays on Madison, or just the longer, sunnier days. Whatever it is, spring is the perfect excuse to refresh your space, and there’s no better place to draw inspiration than from NYC’s chicest shops. Here’s where I go when I’m looking to bring that signature New York elegance into my own little Chelsea apartment.
ABC Carpet and Home – 📍 888 Broadway, New York, NY 10003
If you want to feel instantly inspired, head straight to ABC Carpet & Home in the Flatiron District. This multi-level wonderland is packed with curated collections of furniture, rugs, and home accents that feel straight out of a luxury penthouse. But don’t worry—you don’t need a trust fund to snag some treasures here. Their selection of candles, vases, and tableware is perfect for adding small, chic touches to any spa.
What to Buy: Their one of a kind drinkware, so many beautiful individual styles to choose from.
Why I Love It: The store feels like an art gallery, and even if you don’t buy anything, you’ll leave full of decorating ideas. Plus, it’s dangerously close to Union Square, so you have to stop by The Cure Thrift Store for some thrift store heaven.
New York Flower School📍 213 W 14th St, New York, NY 10011
Okay, technically this isn’t a store, but hear me out. Flower School New York is the ultimate spot to learn how to create those lush floral arrangements you see in the windows of high-end Upper East Side boutiques. Whether you want to master a centerpiece for your spring dinner party or just learn how to style fresh tulips like a pro, this is the place.
What to Buy: Not exactly a purchase, but sign up for a weekend florist class to learn how to craft your own arrangements.
Why I Love It: There’s nothing like fresh flowers to breathe life into a room. Plus, arranging them yourself feels so much more rewarding (and cost-effective) than buying pre-made bouquets.
CB2 Soho📍 451 Broadway, New York, NY 10013
For modern, minimalistic pieces that still feel warm and inviting, CB2 in SoHo is my go-to. From sleek vases to textured throw pillows, they’ve got everything you need for a spring refresh. Plus, their furniture is designed with small spaces in mind—perfect for NYC apartments.
What to Buy: Textured throw pillows in seasonal pastels and these handmade simple white vases for all your spring blooms.
Why I Love It: It’s contemporary without feeling cold, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality. Also, you can easily swing by for a quick shopping session after brunch in SoHo.
Anthropologie📍 Chelsea Market – 75 9th Ave, New York, NY 10011
There’s something about Anthropologie that makes me want to revamp my entire apartment every time I walk in. The Chelsea Market location is one of my favorites—it’s filled with dreamy candles, textured throw pillows, woven baskets, and vintage-inspired décor that bring warmth and personality into any space. I always find myself gravitating toward their unique ceramic mugs, floral bedding, and statement mirrors that instantly make a small NYC apartment feel a little more special. Plus, they carry some of the best-smelling candles (looking at you, Capri Blue Volcano).
What to Buy: The colourful, ceramic kitchen accessories, I adores these little floral berry baskets. The unique stoneware plates and how fun are these contrasting scalloped wine glasses.
Why I Love It: Walking into any Anthropologie is the epitome of boho chic, but I especially love the huge store in the Chelsea Markets. It’s in a historic building and the displays are always so mesmerising.
Diptyque📍 971 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10021
If you want your home to smell like the penthouse suite at The Plaza, look no further than Diptyque. Their luxury candles are iconic for a reason, and spring is the perfect time to switch up your scent. I’m currently obsessed with their rose and fig fragrances—light, floral, and utterly chic.
What to Buy: The Baies candle for a fresh, fruity floral scent that makes you feel like you’re living in a garden on Park Avenue.
Why I Love It: These candles are a splurge, but they double as décor thanks to their minimalist, Instagram-worthy labels. Also, the store itself is a slice of Paris on the Upper East Side, so the shopping experience is half the fun.
Jung Lee📍 25 W 29th St, New York, NY 10001
If you’ve ever dreamed of hosting a dinner party that looks straight out of a glossy editorial, Jung Lee New York is where you need to go. This home boutique is curated to perfection, featuring the most stunning tableware, glassware, and home accessories that instantly elevate any space. Think delicate porcelain plates, sculptural vases, and the kind of linen napkins that make a tablescape feel effortlessly chic. Even if you’re just browsing for inspiration, stepping into this store makes you want to throw an intimate rooftop dinner party ASAP.
This store is right downstairs from my apartment, and across from the Ace Hotel where I get my morning coffee, so I get daily inspiration from here. Even if it is just admiring the window display while I wait for my coffee.
What to Buy: This engraved New York Votive to add some NYC ambience to your apartment (this is one of Jung Lee’s special orders with a lead time). The Gold-Trimmed Dinner Plates, if you want your tablescape to look like an Architectural Digest spread (okay, disclaimer: I could never afford these). Don’t forget to look at the Marble Cheese Boards, always perfect for your next-level charcuterie situation.
Why I Love It: Jung Lee is all about intentional design and elevated essentials. Even the smallest purchase—like a set of sleek salt and pepper shakers—feels like a luxe upgrade. Walking in makes me feel like I should be hosting a dinner party in a Tribeca loft.
Happy spring shopping, loves! And if you spot any other dreamy home décor stores while you’re out and about, let me know. You know I’m always on the hunt for new places to browse.
